USDA announced a fourth phase of the Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program with $60 million in funding opportunities. The programme is intended to help eligible processors expand capacity and strengthen supply-chain resilience. A separate Small Processors Action Plan focuses on clearer requirements, dedicated assistance and more responsive handling of requests and appeals. USDA said these administrative improvements would not weaken inspection or food-safety standards. The announcement concerns available funding, not confirmation that every proposed investment has been awarded.
